Behind the Sticker: Religious Freedom Day

Religious Freedom Day in the United States observes the religious freedom rights given by the  First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution and this day is proclaimed every year on January 16th since 1993. Anyone should be able to practice or not practice any religion and should not be shamed for doing so. Everyone in the United States and the world deserves to have these religious liberties but should not force anyone to be of the same religion.

The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) and Becket Law are organizations that believe humans deserve religious rights but also understands that the government should not be controlled by religion. Both organizations take action to keep these rights alive and the government in check by working with representatives and the courts. They also publish various articles about their work and you can find more information by clicking the names of the organizations above. An additional resource is the International Religious Liberty Association (IRLA), which publishes an academic journal with opinion and legal articles from distinguished academics regarding religious liberties and the effects on society.

Each sticker purchase for this event will donate 40% of the monies split evenly between the ACLU and Becket Law. You can click on the pictures below to directly purchase the stickers or click the three bars at the top of the page for the Etsy link.
